While I was not at the festival - I was actually out of the country--there are times I feel I was there vicariously --- my late mother and father unintentionally got caught up in the traffic jam. Years later, -having gotten to know my mother during her lung cancer battle - under different circumstances I could see both my parents participating in a festival dediated to peace and love; at least I'd like to think so.
We can't go back so it's onward and upward.
I plan on listening to Santana, Richie Havens and Joan Baez today and pretend that we are back in 1969 - it was a very good year. For many reasons, not the least of which is that lung cancer was not on my radar screen.
